About Us
Cameroon Bridge of Hope Community
We are a network of compassionate Cameroonians and supporters, both in Cameroon and in the diaspora, united by one mission: to stand with women, children, youth, families, and individuals who are facing hardship, poverty, disability, illness, or social exclusion.
Our work began from a simple but powerful desire to help. What started as meaningful conversations and connections through online community spaces grew into a movement of people committed to taking action. On May 5, 2025, a small group of eight dedicated individuals came together with a shared vision to create Cameroon Bridge of Hope Community.
Today, CBOH continues to serve as a source of hope for people in need. Through community outreach, emergency assistance, hospital support, orphanage visits, education support, skills training, and empowerment initiatives, we respond to real needs with compassion, accountability, and purpose.
We believe that true impact begins by listening. That is why our approach is practical and community-centered. We do not act based on assumptions. We engage directly with people, families, hospitals, orphanages, and local communities to understand their needs and provide support that can make a meaningful difference.
Together, we are building bridges of hope; one life, one family, and one community at a time.
The Mission
To foster a nuturing environment that promotes personal, professional, social development among members while extending compassion and support to those in need.
Our journey began on TikTok livestreams, where Cameroonians from different parts of the world would gather daily. These livestreams were more than just conversations they became spaces of opportunity, learning, and connection. Some sessions allowed people to promote their businesses, while others featured professionals who spoke on important topics such as health, relationships, personal development, and career choices etc.
Over time, something deeper began to form. We were no longer just participants, we became friends. And from friendship, we became a family. We realized that even though we were Cameroonians based in different countries USA, South Africa, France, and Cameroon, we shared the same values, the same compassion, and the same desire to support one another and give back to our communities back home.
What connected us was more than geography it was purpose.
Recognizing this bond, we created a WhatsApp group to stay connected beyond livestreams. What started as simple conversations quickly evolved into meaningful discussions about impact, responsibility, and the needs we were seeing in our communities.
On May 5th, 2025, after several deep conversations and brainstorming sessions, we made a bold decision to move from just talking to taking action.
At that time, we were eight (8) committed individuals, united by a shared vision. Together, we reflected on what we stood for and how we could make a real difference. After careful consideration, we unanimously agreed on the name:
Cameroon Bridge of Hope Community (CBOHC). The name carries deep meaning. We see ourselves as a bridge connecting the vulnerable and less privileged to those who have the heart, willingness, and resources to change lives.
What inspired us most was the realization that within our small group were people who genuinely cared people who were always ready to give, support, and uplift others without hesitation and without expecting in return.
We started by supporting one another, raising funds internally to assist members in need. This helped us build trust, unity, and accountability.
Soon, we extended our impact outward. We began hosting livestreams to introduce the public to who we are, what we do, and what we stand for. Through these platforms, people began to share their real-life struggles and we listened with empathy and intention.
Our first major intervention changed everything. A single mother of two joined one of our livestreams and shared her heartbreaking story. Thieves had broken into her home and taken everything her bed, her gas cooker, and all her belongings. She was left with nothing sleeping on the floor with her children.
We did not act blindly, we carried out verification and confirmed her story was true. Moved by her situation, we came together as a community. We raised over 600,000 FCFA, which enabled us to refurnish her home, restore her basic living conditions, sponsor her training in hairdressing and provided her with start-up kits to begin a new life. For us, this was not just assistance it was restoring dignity, hope, and a future.
After this first success, our commitment only grew stronger. We continued to respond to real needs supporting vulnerable individuals, visiting orphanages, assisting in hospitals, and reaching out to those who had lost hope. Within just five (5) months, many people were inspired by our work and expressed a desire to join us. After careful consideration, we welcomed three (3) additional members into our core team.
We also began building partnerships with: Organizations, foundatios, Individual supporters an like-minded collaborators.
However, we made a conscious decision not to grow too fast. We believe that real impact is built on a strong foundation. For now, our focus is on strengthening our structure, preserving our values, and ensuring that every action we take creates meaningful and lasting change.
