Bringing Comfort to Mothers and Children at Buea Regional Hospital
On December 18, 2025, Cameroon Bridge of Hope Community walked into the neonatology and pediatric units at Buea Regional Hospital thinking we were simply going to give gifts. But what we encountered touched our hearts deeply.
We met mothers who had not slept in days, sitting beside newborn babies fighting silently for life. We saw tiny babies connected to machines, children too weak to play, and caregivers holding on to hope with all the strength they had left.
One mother held her baby so gently, as if even hope itself could break. She did not ask for much. She simply wanted her child to live.
That day, we gave what we could: diapers, clothes, toiletries, small gifts, and words of comfort. For a moment, the room felt lighter. A few smiles returned. Mothers felt seen. Children felt remembered. Families felt less alone.
But when we left, one truth stayed with us: they were still there. Still waiting. Still fighting.
What we gave brought comfort for a moment, but their needs go far beyond one visit. This is why Cameroon Bridge of Hope Community exists — not just to visit, but to stand with vulnerable people consistently.
Your support is not just a donation. It is comfort for a mother, strength for a family, and hope for a child still fighting for life.
Stand with us. Help us support mothers, newborns, children, and families in hospitals across Cameroon.
